Happy Birthday

Hello Everybody! Happy Wednesday and all that good stuff. I have been surfing all the different blogs out there, trying to find another challenge to do. I think I found one! Or actually I found three! It certainly gave me a run for my time, when I started it. Like I said, I did this card with three challenges in mind. I used my crystal lacquer on the tiles, but it just dulled the image, I guess it's too old. I'm going to enter it in the challenges anyway. I still think it turned out pretty good. We shall see.

Sorry, but this is a quick post today. I have a lot to get done before the weekend.

It is so pretty outside, that all I want to do is sit on my porch and enjoy! It's bright, sunny, and just cool enough for long sleeves.
Please go outside and find some inspiration like I did. It will help clear your mind and be thankful too!

As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hugs Brenda

Many thanks again

Is it Monday already? Where does the time go? I tell my daughters all the time, the older I get the more time flies.

I had a nice relaxing weekend. I hope you did too! I'm really looking forward to the up coming weekend. My youngest daughter and son-in-law from North Carolina are coming in for a couple of days. I have a lot of things to get done before they get here.

The card that I'm posting today is another simple card, but a pretty one. I know you probably are tired of me saying simple card. I'm sorry, but I don't do a lot of elegant, elaborate, or too complicated. I like to see instant gratification. That's why I try and do some challenges of color or sketches. I want to get out of my box!!!!!!!! LOL!

Thank you for stopping by today.

To the left is a quote that I saw on facebook. Thought you might get a kick out of it.This is how I feel some times. There is always new toys coming out, and I have to learn this stuff in order to keep up! LOL!

I do enjoy working on my blog. I enjoy you visiting me, and I also love the fact that working can be fun! Please visit again soon! Hugs Brenda

Fun ! Fun !Fun !.......................

Happy Happy Thursday  everyone!  I hope you are having as much fun as I am? I had so much fun Tuesday night and yesterday, that I just had to share. I went over to my friends house ( Colette Taylor )on Tuesday night in Hilton Head Island  S.C., We had the best time! She shared with us some of the new products that are available now with Stampin Up. The cards that I am posting today, are Colette's creations and I just love'em! The colors and products she used went so well together.

I really like the Stampin Up products because everything looks so bright and refreshing. Their paper, stamp pads, and embellishments all coordinate together. There is no second guessing. I also like the fact that they have started offering unmounted stamps, for those of us who may not have the room for the wood mounted stamps.

Yesterday I went shopping for a couple of new punches. I've been playing and not taking the time to post. Sorry about that! I'm working on a couple of things that I'll be sharing a little later in the week. So just hold your horses. LOL...................I just want to thank Colette for having me come and play and create with her. I also got to see more friends that I haven't seen in about seven years or so. It was a fun night!
Well, as always I am truly blessed to be able to play and share with everyone that pops in. Thank you to all who have become a follower and also to those who maybe thinking about becoming a follower. LOL I do love it when you visit me. Come back to see me often . Hugs Brenda

Family is a Gift

Hello there! Here we are, the starting of another week. The weekend just flew by. I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend ( most of us did ). I realize that not everyone had a three day weekend.

I spent my day today scouting and blog hopping trying to find some inspiration for a new handmade card or photo lay out. I came across a sketch that I really liked. This handmade card that I have posted today is from the sketch of Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I hope I'll be able to submit it to some other challenges as well. We will see..................I hope you all will take the time to do some blog hopping. There really are a lot of talented people out there that work hard to inspire those of us that need that extra boost.

With this card, I did step outside of my box a little bit. I'm trying to get better at not being so boxed in. Meaning I'm adding a few more things than I would normally do. I even worked with a couple of colors that I don't usually use. This is definitely a work in progress.

I hope this blog will help you as it has helped me, with experimenting with colors and shapes. You all inspire me, and in turn I hope I'm able to be an inspiration to you. Thank you so much for stopping by. Please come back soon. Hugs Brenda

Keep in Touch

Good morning everyone! Can you believe another week has passed? Where does the time go? I look back and I don't see anything I've accomplished................. I know I have, or I wouldn't be typing this blog right now.LOL!

This card that I'm posting today is of an image that I power stamped while I was in Pennsylvania. Several of us stampers from all over the map get together twice a year and we do nothing but stamp, scrap, shop, eat and sleep. It's pretty much done in that order too!LOL..................You ladies out there will have to help me out with who this stamp is made by. I just stamped a couple of pages and I wasn't thinking of who the company was. Sorry ladies...............Well, anyway! I like this card because of the retro look. Browns and pinks together are two of my favorite color couples. I hope you will like it too! Feel free to comment and let me know what company sells this stamp.

Thank you all for visiting me on this cold Saturday morning. Yes, I said cold.............LOL!  We're not used to this cold weather here in Ga. Okay, I'll be back in a couple of days. I'm going to get me a cup of coffee and warm up a bit. Hugs Brenda

New Technique

Good morning! I'm glad you decided to join me this morning. I pray everyone is doing well.

I want to share a new technique for me, with you. This is a handmade card using a acetate sharpie marker technique.

This particular card recipe is as follows....................

Green card stock base
layered with purple
layered with a design paper punched with a border punch
white card stock ran through the cuttlebug machine with the polka dot cuttlebug embossing folder
acetate ran through the cuttlebug with the leaf cuttlebug embossing folder
color inside of leaf with sharpie marker
ribbon and sentiment added

This is really a very nice handmade card. Give it a try. I think you will like the look of this card. The picture doesn't do this card justice. If you decide to make this card, please let me know how it turned out and what you think. Even if you do something different, let me know. We all share and help each other, right? Well anyway, I love popping in for a few minutes to share this with you. Take care and have a great day. Hugs Brenda

For Mom.............

Good Saturday afternoon everyone! I hope your weekend is going well.
I'm sitting here trying to make heads and tails of my desk. LOL!
I shared with you a couple of days ago, about how my desk looked and a little bit of what I was doing. Well, Jess (my daughter ) is being  smart with me ( imagine that ) . She decided that she would make a card of some of the things that she saw on my desk. This is what she came up with. Not bad huh? She was laughing and carrying on about how could I work with all of that stuff (she called it) on my desk. I told her that I wasn't working on a project, just working on embellishments for my projects. Spring is on it's way and I want to be ready for it!

I told Jess that I was going to put this handmade card on my blog. She thought I was kidding! So Jess this one's for you! Now, I'm going to see if there are any challenges I can enter it in?

So I'm off to scan out some challenges to put (my card) from her into.Lol! I love you Jess! You know I do!

Thank you for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs Brenda

Where's my Desk?

Happy Thursday everyone. I hope your day is going good? As for mine, it's going great! What I mean by that is, I have really accomplished a lot since the new year has started. Everyday I have had a goal to reach and it seams to be working for me. So as long as it's working for me, I'm going to continue this strategy.

I do want to share with you what I've been working on for the past two days. I pulled out all of my punches, buttons, gems, ribbon and my cricut cutting machine. I've been punching, cutting and gluing like crazy, replenishing my embellishments so I don't have to stop and make an embellishment to put on a project. Having my embellishments made up before hand works better for me, because I can just keep going when I have an idea.

Just thought I would share what a mess my desk looks like when I'm doing this. All of you crafters out there know what I'm talking about. My daughter ( Jess ) gets onto me all the time because my desk is a mess. I tell her, I work better in chaos. LOL!

Look at all those beautiful colors! Don't you just love it! I love buttons! I have a button fetish..................Well at least I'm admitting it! I remember having a love for these little things ever since I was a little girl. Who would have thought, that when I grew up that I would be a button collector? LOL!!!!

The baby carriages, baby bottles and pacifiers are cut out with the Cricut
cutting machine. These are just adorable. I made
baby boy and girl colors. You never know which color you might need?

Well, I just wanted to share with you what I've been up to. I sure appreciate my followers and even the ones that just drop in to see what's going on. I do love it when you visit me. Just as soon as I get more followers, I'll be able to offer incentives and challenges of my on. I'm looking forward to that day. Thanks to all of you I am living my passion. Thank you for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment.                                         Hugs Brenda

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year Everybody! I pray God's blessings for a Happy, Healthy and prosperous 2012 for you all.

I am certainly looking forward to what God has in store for me this year. I am so blessed with such good family and friends, that I really can't ask for anything more.

January gets me in the mood for snow! How about you? Now, we don't see snow here in Ga. except for a few flurries here and there. Lol...................But that doesn't mean I don't dream of it!

So I thought I would make this handmade card of snow and a cute little snowman. This is actually a twist to another card I saw in an old magazine I was looking through for inspiration, Scrap and Stamp. I hope you like it? Here is the recipe for this cute little handmade winter card.

Cream card stock base
Michael's open stock green scrapbook design papers ( background and trees)
Letter rubber stamps and sentiment of your choice
Brown card stock ( tree trunks )
Black ink pad
Glitter glue ( to put on trees )
Star gems
Snowflake punch
1" circle punch ( for snowman face )
draw snowman's face and add pink ink with finger to cheeks

As always, I enjoy the visits and comments. Come back soon! Hugs Brenda
