Wow! I can't believe July is already on it's way out. This month has really flown by! I have been so busy, that I don't know where the month has gone to. I've been keeping my grandchildren through the summer and trying to keep them busy with fun things, cause I didn't want them to think staying with Nonnie ( that's what they call me ) was boring. Lol It wasn't boring on my end, I'll tell ya! I hope they have enjoyed them selves, because I have certainly enjoyed them.
I want to share with you today, bookmarks that I made for a Christian Women's conference. The theme was " Beauty for Ashes " So this to me, was a time for reflecting and cleaning out the junk in our lives and becoming a new creature.
On these bookmarks, I wanted to show that when we clean out all of the past junk in our lives, it allows new growth and also a new birth. This is something I still struggle with on a day to day bases. The flowers show new growth and the butterfly is an example of new birth or rebirth. God can give both.
Thank you so much, for stopping by today. I pray you all will have a blessed week! Hugs Brenda
This is a card making, scrapbooking, paper crafting site. Doing what I love and sharing it with you!

Round Two of Cards
It's Sunday, and what a beautiful Sunday it is! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and probably most of you are watching the Masters Golf Tournament.
I just want to share real quick, round two of my cards for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Since I'm doing a mass production of these cards, I've had to keep it some what simple, but nice of course. The base of this card is embossed using the cuttlebug embossing folder, layered with a stripe of yellow and designer paper. I also used an ek success punched butterfly and raised oval punch out to give dimension, along with three pink pearls.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a great week! Hugs Brenda

Thinking of you card..........A great way to keep in touch.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! I hope you're having a fantastic week? So far, this week's going pretty good for me. I've been working on some cards to send to my sister. She's making up gift baskets for the Relay for Life survivor dinner, in the Polk County, N.C. area. It is a privilege, and an honor to be able to help.
This particular card today, is a thinking of you card. Everyone can use extra thinking of you cards, right? It's kind of a general card, letting someone know you're thinking of them, regardless the reason. So, I mass produced this card and had fun doing so.
Does this welcome Spring, or what? I had to use buttons! You know how I love buttons?
Thank you so much, for dropping by today! I pray your week goes well! Hugs Brenda

Birthday Stash
Happy Sunday morning everyone! Today I have a handmade card to share with you that I made just last night. I was looking through my stash of cards and realized I was getting low on my Birthday Cards.
This is a pleating technique I have never done before. I have always loved seeing them on cards, but have never attempted to make one of these medallions.
I used my scor pal to put the pleats in the paper across the top and to make the pleats for the medallions I only used my scor pal for scoring my card base. I have never used it to make pleats. Don't ask me why! It's crazy I know! I have all these crafty tools and I never use them to their potential.
Like I've said many times before! I'm trying to get out of my box. I owe a lot of my venturing out of my box to my blogger friends. I see all of these beautiful things that you all have created and it makes me want to try and do it too! Thank you to all that have inspired me.
I wish you all a blessed Sunday. Thank you for stopping by. Hugs Brenda

Seeing Double
Well it's another Friday and the weekend is here again. I hope everyone had a great week? My internet has been down for a couple of days and I have missed a couple of days of contact. But I'm back now!
I have uploaded a couple of cards that are identical except for the color. This is a challenge that I came across over at City Crafter Challenge Blog http://www.citycrafter.blogspot.com/ and thought it would be fun to do.The flowers that I put on these cards are made out of a circle punch for the base, a pear punch for the petals, and a real small flower punch to make the stamen for the center of the flowers.
I really had fun doing this handmade card. I think I want to do some more of these flowers. They turned out really nice.
The background for this card was made with a leaf cuttlebug folder, sponged with dye base ink. White paper put in the folder then ran through the cuttlebug.
I hope I gave you some inspiration with this handmade card. Try it! It's a lot of fun!
Thank you for stopping by one more time! I do enjoy checking to see how many people stop by. It does my heart good! Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs Brenda

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy New Year Everybody! I pray God's blessings for a Happy, Healthy and prosperous 2012 for you all.
I am certainly looking forward to what God has in store for me this year. I am so blessed with such good family and friends, that I really can't ask for anything more.
January gets me in the mood for snow! How about you? Now, we don't see snow here in Ga. except for a few flurries here and there. Lol...................But that doesn't mean I don't dream of it!
So I thought I would make this handmade card of snow and a cute little snowman. This is actually a twist to another card I saw in an old magazine I was looking through for inspiration, Scrap and Stamp. I hope you like it? Here is the recipe for this cute little handmade winter card.
Cream card stock base
Michael's open stock green scrapbook design papers ( background and trees)
Letter rubber stamps and sentiment of your choice
Brown card stock ( tree trunks )
Black ink pad
Glitter glue ( to put on trees )
Star gems
Snowflake punch
1" circle punch ( for snowman face )
draw snowman's face and add pink ink with finger to cheeks
As always, I enjoy the visits and comments. Come back soon! Hugs Brenda

Always Flowers
Hurray it's hump day! Just thought I would pop in and share something I've been working on. I thought I would do something a little different. I haven't done too many black cards, so here we go with this one..............Although I love Christmas, I am ready to move on to something else.
This is a black card stock base, with white ran through the cuttlebug with the swirl cuttlebug embossing folder. I have a strip of gros grain ribbon at the top of the card with three of my flowers that I create for my embellishments, a stamped sentiment at the bottom..................................
Thank you for stopping by and checking this out! I do enjoy it when you visit. Come back real soon.
Hugs, Brenda

Wintery Night
You all probably thought I wasn't going to post anymore this week, well I almost didn't. I have been so swamped that I was just too tired. But, you know what? Believe it or not, this actually helps me wind down for the night..................Anyway here we go!
This card that I've posted is another one of those, very pretty but simple cards. This handmade Christmas card has a white card stock base, with a blue layer on top that has been embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. The folder has the theme of a distant winter town. Before I adhere the winter theme to the base card, I attach the ribbon and then glue the blue winter layer on. I take a 1in. square punch , cut it 1/2 point to point and that gives you the photo corners. I heat emboss warm wishes and last but not least, I add stardust stickles to the rooftops and scatter 2 or 3 stars. there you have it. A very pretty but simple card to send out to those on your Christmas card list.
I hope you try making this handmade Christmas card and you will see just how simple it really is.
I thank you all so much for stopping by and checking out my blog. My hope is that in some way, I may be an inspiration. I am truly blessed..................

All that sparkles......... may not always be diamonds
It's Friday! Can you believe this week is already gone?
Well, I was doing some blog hopping to find different challenges to work on. I found a few I was interested in, and here's one.
The challenge is black and white with this particular sketch. The other is another color challenge using, black, sparkle, and flowers. I think I covered that! Don't you?
This picture really doesn't do this card justice, because it's not picking up the sparkle of the gems that I put on the flowers or the border.
I really must get a new camera with a higher pixel.
Maybe Santa will bring me one? Ya think? Lol.....
