Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope you all are treating your sweeties right? Today is a day when we can have candy and not feel guilty, right?
I made my husband a handmade card, of course! I created it using the Stampin-up bear again. I made a whole sheet of these, so that's why you are seeing a lot of him this month. I also created these cute little boxes to put candy in. These are very simple to make. Maybe I'll share a tutorial on these boxes soon.
I hope you all are having a Love filled day! Thank you for stopping by today. Hugs to all! Brenda

Birthday Wishes!
Hello and Happy Wednesday, to everyone! I hope you all are staying warm and dry. This has been some kind of weather, here in Georgia. We've had everything from snow flurries, sleet, to freezing rain. I don't know about you all, but I'm ready for Spring. Who's with me?
Today I would like to share the Birthday card I made for my grand-son. I'm always making cards that are great for women or girls, but I seem to have a problem when it comes to boys or guys. I need to find a masculine flare to some of my cards. Maybe in the near upcoming future, I'll have a challenge for masculine cards. Stay tuned for more details.
Happy Birthday, Riley! Nonnie loves you!
I used the same Stampin-up bear as the last post. I used a paisley designer paper background onto a basic 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 white card base, added a blue gingham ribbon tied into a loose knot instead of a bow.
I'm giving him money, so instead of putting it in the card, I made this pillow box made out of a toilet paper roll. I also covered this with the same designer paper.
As always, thank you for stopping by today! Hugs to all, Brenda

Anniversary / Valentine Card
Hi everyone! Well, we're well on our way through February and what a great month for love. Yesterday was my daughter (Jess ) and son-in-law's ( Chris ) 8th anniversary. Jess wasn't feeling well yesterday and left from work early, so I thought I would help out on their special day. I picked up pizza ( Jess's favorite food ) and Red Velvet Cake cookies ( Chris loves red velvet cake ) and took it over to their house. I had made a handmade Anniversary card for them, the day before. For those of you that know me, you know I love buttons. I have so many buttons and I need to start doing something with them, instead of hoarding them. LOL! Much love went into this card, not just because I love my daughter and son-in-law, but because I love my buttons. This card can also be used as a Valentine card.
The teddy bear on the front of this card is an old Stampin Up rubber stamp.
The eyes for the bear are from Spellbinders Want 2 Scrap Nestabling. The cute little buttons that I used are from Itsy Bitsy Buttons.
The bow was made using Craft-Dee Bowz bow making tool.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by. Hugs Brenda

Birthday Stash
Happy Sunday morning everyone! Today I have a handmade card to share with you that I made just last night. I was looking through my stash of cards and realized I was getting low on my Birthday Cards.
This is a pleating technique I have never done before. I have always loved seeing them on cards, but have never attempted to make one of these medallions.
I used my scor pal to put the pleats in the paper across the top and to make the pleats for the medallions I only used my scor pal for scoring my card base. I have never used it to make pleats. Don't ask me why! It's crazy I know! I have all these crafty tools and I never use them to their potential.
Like I've said many times before! I'm trying to get out of my box. I owe a lot of my venturing out of my box to my blogger friends. I see all of these beautiful things that you all have created and it makes me want to try and do it too! Thank you to all that have inspired me.
I wish you all a blessed Sunday. Thank you for stopping by. Hugs Brenda

Another Recycled Greeting
Hello everyone! Today I have another recycled greeting for you.
As I mentioned before, my aunt gave me a stack of bought greeting cards. I didn't want to throw them away, so I have come up with a series of cards that I will share with you on recycled greeting cards.
This particular card today is a birthday card using four of the same design greeting card. What I have done is, cut out different parts of the card and made it a layered 3D card. I also used my cuttlebug and an embossing folder from Stampin-Up for a background layer. I then stamped happy birthday onto white card stock and layered it onto some of the blue greeting card. I also used pop dots to attach it to the card so it wouldn't be flat on the base of the card. There are lots of layers, but very simple to do.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope this will inspire you to do some recycling too! Hugs Brenda

Hippity Hoppity
Hi everyone! Glad you could stop by and pay me a visit. I just want to say that today has been a beautiful day to be out and about. The birds were singing and the azaleas are in full bloom around here!
My husband and I along with my mom and her husband went to the Rattlesnake and wildlife festival. It was packed! For those of you that might not know what that is, well it's a festival that takes place in my birth place town of Claxton Ga. ( The Fruit Cake Capital of the World. ) It's known all over the world.
Anyway, the festival educates the community about the surrounding wildlife and how to stay protected. It also allows vendors to come in and sell all sorts of foods, crafts and live music and clogging.
Okay! Onto the card that I'm posting. This card was done from a sketch from The House That Scraps Built http://www.thehousethatscrapsbuilt.com/ . This sketch was challenging for me for sure. But I guess that's why it's called a challenge. Right? LOL! I hope it inspires someone out there! I will post the challenges that I enter, a little later.
Thank you again for stopping by. Come back soon! Ya Hear! Hugs Brenda

Time for Flowers
It's Wednesday, and I'm back from visiting with my baby girl in N.C. I'll miss her, but she's in good hands. Her husband takes good care of her.
While I was there we had a chance to play a little. Like I mentioned in my last post, I said I would share the card I did while I was there.
Here it is! I had so much fun creating this handmade card because it's getting warmer outside and all of the birds, bees, and butterflies are out. The flowers are starting to bloom and everything is beautiful!
The Dogwoods on this card is from a Stampin' Up set. I guess you can also make this a cherry blossom? Either way, it's beautiful! The butterfly and gems came from my stash. The paper I used is by My Mind's Eye, called quite contrary. I found it at A.C. Moore. The Thank You stamp is from InkaDinkaDo clear mini stamp collection.
Well, that's it for today. I will post my challenge info later. Thank you for stopping by! Hugs Brenda

Springtime smiles
Hey hey, It's Friday y'all! Another week has flown by. I'm sitting here on my daughter's computer, trying to figure it out. This might take a while! LOL! I need to upload my card and I'm having a hard time figuring out where everything is and how everything is set up.. I don't want to call her at work and disturb her. My husband decided at the last minute that he wanted to visit our daughter in N.C. Well, I didn't have a problem with that, and away we went. Now here I am trying to keep things going on my blog, and I don't know anything about her computer. I guess if we do too much of this up and going, I'll have to break down and get a laptop. Oh whoa is me! LOL! Anyway, here is the card for this week. I threw a few things in a bag to work on while I was here and this is one card so far, that I've done. This is a springtime Easter set from Stampin' Up. I thought that since spring is on it's way, that I would work on spring cards while I'm here in beautiful N.C. I'm sorry the picture isn't that great, but hopefully you can make it out. Maybe by the next card, I'll be figured it out better. But for the time being this will have to work. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Hugs Brenda

Happy Birthday
Hello Everybody! Happy Wednesday and all that good stuff. I have been surfing all the different blogs out there, trying to find another challenge to do. I think I found one! Or actually I found three! It certainly gave me a run for my time, when I started it. Like I said, I did this card with three challenges in mind. I used my crystal lacquer on the tiles, but it just dulled the image, I guess it's too old. I'm going to enter it in the challenges anyway. I still think it turned out pretty good. We shall see.
Sorry, but this is a quick post today. I have a lot to get done before the weekend.
It is so pretty outside, that all I want to do is sit on my porch and enjoy! It's bright, sunny, and just cool enough for long sleeves.
Please go outside and find some inspiration like I did. It will help clear your mind and be thankful too!
As always, thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hugs Brenda
Challenges:
1.) Sketchy Colors http://sketchycolors.blogspot.com/ ...............................Green, Beige, Cream
2.) Paper Sundaes http://papersundaes.blogspot.com/ ................................Paper Piecing
3.) Come and get it Challenge http://comeandgetitchallenges.blogspot.com/ ..............Faux Tile
4.) For Your Inspiration http://foryourinspirationchallenges.blogspot.com/ ................Photo inspiration challenge..............Greens, yellows, oranges, browns, tans
Melissa over at Creating from the Heart http://keepsakesbymelissa.blogspot.com/ is having a great giveaway to celebrate her birthday.

Many thanks again
Is it Monday already? Where does the time go? I tell my daughters all the time, the older I get the more time flies.
I had a nice relaxing weekend. I hope you did too! I'm really looking forward to the up coming weekend. My youngest daughter and son-in-law from North Carolina are coming in for a couple of days. I have a lot of things to get done before they get here.
The card that I'm posting today is another simple card, but a pretty one. I know you probably are tired of me saying simple card. I'm sorry, but I don't do a lot of elegant, elaborate, or too complicated. I like to see instant gratification. That's why I try and do some challenges of color or sketches. I want to get out of my box!!!!!!!! LOL!
Thank you for stopping by today.
To the left is a quote that I saw on facebook. Thought you might get a kick out of it.This is how I feel some times. There is always new toys coming out, and I have to learn this stuff in order to keep up! LOL!
I do enjoy working on my blog. I enjoy you visiting me, and I also love the fact that working can be fun! Please visit again soon! Hugs Brenda
