Hurray it's hump day! Just thought I would pop in and share something I've been working on. I thought I would do something a little different. I haven't done too many black cards, so here we go with this one..............Although I love Christmas, I am ready to move on to something else.
This is a black card stock base, with white ran through the cuttlebug with the swirl cuttlebug embossing folder. I have a strip of gros grain ribbon at the top of the card with three of my flowers that I create for my embellishments, a stamped sentiment at the bottom..................................
Thank you for stopping by and checking this out! I do enjoy it when you visit. Come back real soon.
Hugs, Brenda

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day! I spent Christmas with my daughter Jess, my son-in-law Chris and my grandson Riley and my granddaughter Braelynn. We had a great day together!
My dad also came and spent the night with us and was able to spend some time with his great grand children.
The food was excellent and the gifts were more than enough...................My husband bought me a new camera, a 16mp. Now my pictures will look so much better.......... My post pictures will look awesome thanks to him. He has heard me complain enough, that's for sure.
After Christmas lunch, my husband Ted and I went to visit my great aunt in the nursing home and we went and put flowers on my grandmother, sister and my brothers graves. To top it off, we went with a friend to see Christmas lights. They were just beautiful!
Well I just wanted to pop in and say Merry Christmas! I told you I would be back Christmas eve, but it was chaotic around here. I will be back in a couple of days and share some other things I've been working on.
Thank you for visiting and come back soon! Hugs Brenda

Christmas Tree
Hey everybody! I hope your week is going well? Not only is this Thursday, but also three days until Christmas! Wow!
I've got all my shopping done. Now I can enjoy the rest of the week. Minus a few goodies I need to bake before Christmas Day...............................
There is another handmade Christmas card I want to share with you. This one also goes into the category of very simple, but pretty.
Like I said, with preparing for Christmas and entering a lot of challenges, I got a little behind with my handmade Christmas cards to mail out. I know you are probably thinking, she has made a lot of Christmas cards. Well, that's true! I like to keep an updated portfolio of all my cards. Anyway, the recipe for this card is..............White card stock, stamped with blue snowflakes and a sentiment. I added a cut out Christmas tree from Bo Bunny design scrapbook paper. I used pop dots to give the tree dimension and a gem star on top of the tree.To finish it off, I added stickles glitter glue on the snowflakes, which you can't see in the picture, sorry.
Thanks again for stopping by. I'll be back on Christmas eve. See you then. Hugs Brenda

Ornaments from a Friend
Happy Tuesday evening everybody! Are you getting excited or overwhelmed about now? Five days until Christmas. I can't believe it!
This isn't going to be a long post. Just something I want to share with you.
One of my best friends from Mill Spring North Carolina made these beautiful ornaments for me, so I just had to share with you. Aren't they beautiful? They are just empty clear ornament balls filled with rolled up strips of double sided scrapbook paper. A big bow added to the top with a ribbon to hang it on the tree.
My friend is so talented..........That I just want to
share some of the things she has made. She creates
on a daily basis. I get overwhelmed when I visit
her. Bonnie is on a whole different level than I am.
Please check out her blog and you will see for yourself............Here it is:

Thank you all so much for coming back time after time to check out new ideas that I have created with the help of other. What do I mean by that? If it weren't for the challenges, I feel I may fall by the waste side and not be pushing myself to the limit. I really do love what I do, and you all make that possible. Please come back soon. Don't forget to become a follower! I would like to have at least 100 followers by January 30th. Please help me accomplish this? Thanks in advance. I'll see you back here on Thursday. Be Blessed, Brenda

Merry Simple
LOL! How did you like that play on words?
This is a very simple handmade card, and the reason I mainly wanted to share it with you is, because of it's simplicity.
I've been doing a lot of challenges and I haven't had much time to put into the handmade cards I'm mailing out. Isn't that terrible? But this handmade card,I'm pleased with because it's simple and pretty. I think my family will be happy with this!
This card has a red card stock base, layered with a Bo Bunny green design paper. Before putting the next layer on, I heat embossed in gold, Merry Christmas. The last layer is another Bo Bunny design paper of Christmas trees. You can't tell, but I have cut out a single red tree and placed it on top of the red tree with pop dots to give dimension. I added a blue star on top of the blue tree, and there you have it! A simple handmade card to mail out to family and friends. This card is a very good card to mass produce.

Wintery Night
You all probably thought I wasn't going to post anymore this week, well I almost didn't. I have been so swamped that I was just too tired. But, you know what? Believe it or not, this actually helps me wind down for the night..................Anyway here we go!
This card that I've posted is another one of those, very pretty but simple cards. This handmade Christmas card has a white card stock base, with a blue layer on top that has been embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. The folder has the theme of a distant winter town. Before I adhere the winter theme to the base card, I attach the ribbon and then glue the blue winter layer on. I take a 1in. square punch , cut it 1/2 point to point and that gives you the photo corners. I heat emboss warm wishes and last but not least, I add stardust stickles to the rooftops and scatter 2 or 3 stars. there you have it. A very pretty but simple card to send out to those on your Christmas card list.
I hope you try making this handmade Christmas card and you will see just how simple it really is.
I thank you all so much for stopping by and checking out my blog. My hope is that in some way, I may be an inspiration. I am truly blessed..................

Fun with a Friend..........
Hello there my blogger friends. I just want to share with you the wonderful time I had yesterday with one of my bestest friends in the whole wide world, Colette Taylor.............This is someone I met about ten or so years ago, at a Stampin-Up class that the craft coordinator from the church that I was attending at the time hosted. She was showing us how to make beautiful cards with rubber stamps. I loved it! I have been hooked on rubber stamping ever since.
Yesterday we worked on these two cards that I have absolutely fell in love with, and I just had to share.
The first card we did, is the one to the right. This is called a stair case card. The trees on this handmade Christmas card, is cut out triangles run through the cuttlebug embossing folders. The rubber stamped images and sentiments, are Stampin-Up rubber stamps.
The Handmade Christmas penguin card above, is also the brilliant work of Colette, and of course all Stampin-Up products. Aren't these handmade Christmas cards the cutest?
Last but not least, to the left is this beautiful Christmas card she made for me. I love it!
I hope I didn't bore y'all with my day? I just wanted to share the fun we had, and also share her talents with y'all. Please look her up? Here is her website: www.colettetaylor.stampinup.net
Thank you all for visiting and listen to me ramble.

Rain, Rain, go away! Come again another day!
Yes, it's raining outside and cold. It certainly makes you want to stay inside and work, or play. Lol..........Guess what I've decided to do? Yep! You've got it! I'm playing!
This handmade Christmas card is very simple, but elegant. It looks complicated but not. You just let the tools do the work for you. All you have to do is assemble it. I love the colors and also, like I've said before................ this is my favorite Christmas flower/plant.
Thank you all for visiting. Come again soon!
Enjoy your day! Luv and Hugs Brenda

Wow! I really love this card. One reason is, this is my favorite Christmas flower. Another reason is, the story behind this beautiful flower, which in all reality is not a flower at all. Look up the story of the poinsettia. It will fill you with the warmth of the Christmas season.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Here we are, a beautiful day in Columbus North Carolina. Gabby my youngest daughter, invited us up for Thanksgiving, so here we are enjoying the visit with her and our new son-in-law. Of course I should have known there was a motive behind it. Lol! Gabby wanted me to show her how to make everything for the big Thanksgiving meal. So, guess who did most of the cooking? Yep! You've got it! Yours truly.................She did fix a mean baked mac & cheese, which was delicious. Sharon her mother-in-law, made a green bean casserole and a sweet potato casserole that were to die for. I almost did! It was so good! Lol............. We have just finished preparing the meal and about to sit down to eat, but first I must give thanks for all the blessings God has bestowed upon my family and I. I am so thankful for my family and dear friends for always being there with their support and love.
I also want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all my blogger friends and followers for stopping by time after time just to see if I have something to inspire you. It means a lot to me when you leave all of those nice comments.
One more thing before I go. I will be back on Monday with more things to share, so in the meantime, go shopping and pick up lots of those cool deals that Michael's and A.C. Moore are offering! But most of all, stay safe and be Thankful!!!!!!! Luv to all, Brenda

Many Thanks
It's Thursday, and another weekend is upon us. Can you believe it? The days are just flying by.
I have a lot going on this weekend. My mom is coming for the day tomorrow, I'm going to visit with a friend Friday night and we are going to the Christmas Made in the South convention in Savannah Georgia Saturday morning, and Sunday morning my husband and I are going to my youngest daughter's house in Ashville North Carolina for Thanksgiving. Wow! That's a lot of going. Pray that we have safe travels.
Now, on to this card. I changed up a little bit. I didn't do a Christmas card this time. I needed a break, just for a couple of hours.
I made this handmade card mainly for a couple of challenges. Lexi's Creations and Colour Create are for starters, but I will be adding it into several challenges for sure.
Thank you for stopping by and thanks for all of the comments. As always keep those creative juices flowing and your hand busy.

Let it Snow......Let it Snow
Here we have just a base card of ivory with windows of snowflakes. The turquoise card stock behind the snowflakes is on the inside of the card, where you put the sentiment. This is a new Martha Stewart Snowflake punch. You can dardly tell, but there are dark pink gems in the center of each snowflake. Rubber stamped snowflakes, stamped let is snow sentiment and ribbon. There you have it! Simple but very nice.
Bundles of Warm Wishes!
Hello my blogger friends! It is very windy outside and it kinda got me in the mood to do holiday cards. I didn't really want to get into the traditional Christmas colors, so this is what I came up with. Thank goodness for challenges because I need to get out of my little box.
The next three or four cards are not in my color pallet for Christmas. That's good! It's stretching me and that's what this blog is all about.
Maybe in some small way I'm helping some of you also? That's what crafting is all about, sharing with each other.

Rub A Dub Dub......Riley in the Tub
Happy Sunday afternoon everybody! I pray Blessings upon you all.
It's really cool and windy outside, but it's beautiful! This gets me in the mood to craft.
I sat on my porch having my coffee, enjoying God's creation, and I was thinking of all those pictures I have of my Grandchildren that I need to put in scrapbooks. So, I've been scrapping some.
I thought this page turned out so cute that I just had to share it with you.

The Bewitching Hour.........
Okay, this is the last post for tonight. This card was done for another challenge. I had to use the colors, orange, green, black, and purple.
This was really a fun card. I used a lot of tools on this card. I did a masking/sponging technique, and the tools were an embossing folder, border punch, and the Cricut machine.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Hope to see you soon!

All that sparkles......... may not always be diamonds
It's Friday! Can you believe this week is already gone?
Well, I was doing some blog hopping to find different challenges to work on. I found a few I was interested in, and here's one.
The challenge is black and white with this particular sketch. The other is another color challenge using, black, sparkle, and flowers. I think I covered that! Don't you?
This picture really doesn't do this card justice, because it's not picking up the sparkle of the gems that I put on the flowers or the border.
I really must get a new camera with a higher pixel.
Maybe Santa will bring me one? Ya think? Lol.....

Friendships of Lavender and Lace...........
Hello all my blogger friends! Here's a card I worked on for a challenge on another blog. I really had fun making this card. Lavenders and purples are my favorite colors. I used cuttlebug, Martha Stewart, and Just Rite products on this card. I also used a piece of floral vellum as an overlay along with lace and lavender ribbon running through it. I have a lot of different colored rose buds that I have made, so I went and looked through my stash and found a lavender one to put on my card..............Thank you for stopping by and allowing me to share this with you.

Twist to a Christmas Card Basket Tradition.........
Hello my blogger friends! I'm so glad you stopped by. Today I want to share something with you that was shared with me probably 15 yrs ago. My best friend Diane, her mother asked if I save Christmas cards that people send me and if I did, could I share some with her for a project she was working on? Of course I did and in return she sent me a very nice handmade Christmas Card Basket.
Every year since then, at Christmas I always put out my basket. I use it for different things. Sometimes I put Christmas cards in it as they come in the mail, a basket for napkins, bread basket, or candy treats, you get the idea. Below is a picture of the one I received 15 yrs. ago.
Now every Christmas since then, I do the same thing. I ask my family and friends to save me their old Christmas cards. I then in turn make a basket for someone special that I have either met during the year, a friend, a co-worker or just someone I think may enjoy getting one.
Today I'm sharing with you, one I made and put a twist to it. I hope you like it?
1.) I make a template out of cereal boxes and cut it
out.
2.) trace the template onto scrapbook paper then cut it out and glue onto the cardboard template.(8 pieces for sides and 1 for bottom).
3.)Pierce holes around the pieces about 1/4 inch
from edge.
4.) make a blanket stitch around each piece with
crochet thread like picture below.
5.) Attach all pieces with ribbon or any of the many decorative yarns that are available out there.
6.) the finished product.
This has endless possibilities. It doesn't have to be Christmas. You can use all kind of decorative papers and ribbons and yarns.
